We are seeking an individual who is passionate about helping students strengthen their academic skills, build confidence, and reach their full potential.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Barber Preparatory Academy is a public charter school serving PK–8 students with a well-rounded education that includes community service learning and competitive sports. Known for its welcoming school community, Barber Prep is part of ACCEL Schools, a network of public charter schools serving K–12 students across the United States.</span></p> <h2><span style="font-size: 12pt;">About the Opportunity</span></h2> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The Student Tutor provides targeted individual and small-group academic support under the direction of certified instructional staff. The Tutor works closely with teachers and school leadership to reinforce classroom learning, address skill gaps, and support student growth.</span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Provide individual and small-group tutoring based on identified student needs</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Reinforce classroom instruction in reading, literacy, writing, mathematics, and other academic areas</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Adapt tutoring strategies to meet varying student needs and skill levels</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Monitor and document student participation and academic progress</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Collaborate with teachers and school leadership to support student growth</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Create a positive, supportive, and focused learning environment</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Maintain student confidentiality and accurate records</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Perform other duties as assigned</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>About You</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">High school diploma or equivalent required</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Must meet <strong>Michigan Title I instructional paraprofessional requirements</strong> through at least one of the following:</span> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">60 semester credit hours from an accredited institution; <strong>or</strong></span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Associate degree or higher from an accredited institution; <strong>or</strong></span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Successful completion of a Michigan-approved paraprofessional assessment</span></li> </ul> </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Previous experience tutoring, mentoring, teaching, or working with school-age children preferred</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong reading, writing, mathematics,
