Recognized as a Glassdoor Top 100 Best Place to Work, we offer a collaborative and caring community where you feel like you belong and are empowered to grow, learn and thrive through hands-on experience, certifications, industry training and more. </div> <div> </div> <div>Join us to drive positive, lasting change that moves missions and the government forward!</div> <div> </div> </div></div><p>As a Data Product & Quality Specialist at AFS, you will act as the primary quality and testing authority for data products, bridging the gap between the engineering team and data consumers.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>The work:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead quality assurance and testing for data products, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with metadata and requirements.</li> <li>Develop and execute test plans for data pipelines, APIs, and data products, validating data discoverability and accessibility through available interfaces.</li> <li>Advise Department of the Air Force data domains on designing and building data products, including metadata standards, SLAs/SLOs, quality expectations, and availability requirements.</li> <li>Help data domains define and apply data‑product quality standards and use AFB tools to clean, transform, and refine raw data into usable products.</li> <li>Support adoption of the Data Mesh ecosystem, helping consumers understand and leverage data products and enabling tools.</li> <li>Use cataloging and metadata solutions—including automated tagging tools and enterprise platforms such as Databricks, Collibra, Snowflake, and Palantir—to support creation and validation of data products.</li> <li>Create and maintain user‑facing documentation, tutorials, and onboarding guides.</li> <li>Gather feedback from consumers and mission partners to drive continuous improvement of data products and the platform.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Here’s what you need:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Must be a U.S. citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to obtain a Top Secret</li> <li>Strong experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman), data catalog interfaces, and data validation techniques.</li> <li>Familiarity with SQL and scripting languages such as Python for data analysis and validation.</li> <li>Experience in data quality assurance, software testing, and writing technical documentation.</li> <li>Strong analytical mindset with the ability to understand data from both technical and mission‑user perspectives.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills for translating consumer needs into actionable technical feedback for development teams.</li> <li>Familiarity with enterprise data platforms used by the Department of the Air Force, including Databricks, Collibra, Snowflake, and Palantir, particularly in the context of creating and managing data products.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience supporting or advocating for data‑mesh principles within an enterpri
