Engineering Technician 2 - Electrical/ Mechanical

<p><strong>Job Overview </strong></p> <p>As an Engineering Technician, you'll play a key role in supporting R&D projects and collaborating with cross-functional portfolio teams. You'll be involved in the end-to-end development of hardware prototypes, contributing to the design and assembly of PCB, mechanical components, and software scripts. Your work will include conducting tests and experiments that drive development toward manufacturing readiness, while maintaining thorough documentation and process records to track test data and results. This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment where collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. You'll have opportunities to explore a variety of projects and engage with a talented team of engineers to share knowledge and expertise.</p> <p><strong>Essential Functions </strong></p> <ul> <li>Solder PCBs with Surface-Mounted Components (SMCs)</li> <li>Solder wire harnesses and making cables based on minimal documentation</li> <li>Modify circuit boards using wire jumpers and PCB trace modifications</li> <li>Assist in the construction of testing platforms and event setups</li> <li>Review and interpret PCB layouts for accurate implementation</li> <li>Help design and model components using CAD software, including SolidWorks, for engineering applications.</li> <li>Print 3D models and prototypes to support design validation and engineering development.</li> <li>Collaborate in the fabrication process, ensuring quality control and precision in part creation.</li> <li>Solder wire harnesses and making cables based on minimal documentation</li> <li>Assist in diagnosing and resolving technical challenges, contributing to project success.</li> <li>Contribute to the design, assembly, and testing of UAV frames for advanced projects.</li> <li>Implement and uphold 5S methodology to streamline workflows and develop efficient lean processes.</li> <li>Meticulously document testing procedures and data to ensure accuracy and support repeatability in future projects.</li> <li>Assist in diagnosing and resolving technical challenges, contributing to project success.</li> <li>Provide support in the development and management of project timelines under the guidance of the lead engineer or program manager.</li> <li>Carry out additional duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of engineering and project goals.</li> <li>Collaborate with Manufacturing team to help push products to delivery</li> <li>Perform other duties as required.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Standard Essential Functions </strong></p> <ul> <li>Regular and reliable attendance on a full time basis [or in accordance with posted schedule].</li> <li>Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company's policies and practices.</li> <li>Embodies AEVEX’s cultural values and aligns daily actions with department goals and company culture.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications and Competencies </strong></p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of Electrical SMT and Software</li> <li>Knowledge of circuits</li> <li>Ability to understand schematics, assembly drawings, and PCB layout</li> <li>Ability to understand cable drawings</li> <li>Solid knowledge of Electrical and Aircraft Systems</li> <li>Knowledge of power and mechanical systems</li> </ul> <p><strong>Education / Certifications </strong></p> <ul> <li>Associate degree in engineering or technical fiel
