Our vision is to help developers, builders, and creators bring their ideas to life with speed and simplicity, by providing a cloud data platform that makes open-source databases, search, streaming, and application infrastructure easily accessible to everyone.</p> <h3>The Role:</h3> <p>We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to build a new team focused entirely on internal developer experience. You'll shape how Aiven engineers write, test and ship code, from development environments and internal tooling to CI/CD pipelines. Every improvement you make lands directly in the daily work of every engineering team at Aiven. We want a generalist who knows software engineering best practices, is equally comfortable writing a fast, robust shell script and managing cloud infrastructure, and wants to build up a team from day one.</p> <h3>What You'll Do:</h3> <ul> <li>Work with engineering teams to identify and prioritise concrete problems, then fix them.</li> <li>Own and improve our CI/CD pipelines.</li> <li>Build new developer tooling, or pick the best existing tools, and drive their adoption.</li> <li>Set sensible defaults for the whole organisation, such as project templates, testing conventions and documentation.</li> <li>Help shape how humans and AI agents develop safely side by side.</li> </ul> <h3>What We're Looking For:</h3> <ul> <li><strong>Professional Experience:</strong> Several years in professional software engineering teams, shipping and maintaining software in production.</li> <li><strong>Ownership Instinct:</strong> You're the person who fixed the flaky build, wrote the onboarding script or cleaned up the pipeline because it was slowing your team down, even when nobody asked.</li> <li><strong>Infrastructure:</strong> Hands-on experience with Linux, containers and Infrastructure as Code.</li> <li><strong>Communication:</strong> Fluency in English, written and verbal.</li> <li><strong>Observability</strong> <em>(nice-to-have)</em>: Experience with observability tooling.</li> <li><strong>UX Sensibility</strong> <em>(nice-to-have)</em>: Familiarity with user experience or product design, or a habit of treating your fellow engineers as users.</li> <li><strong>Open-Source Data Technologies</strong> <em>(nice-to-have)</em>: Familiarity with open source data technologies such as Apache Kafka®, PostgreSQL® or ClickHouse®.</li> </ul> <h3>Amazing!
