<h3>Overview</h3> <p>Alarm.com is seeking a DevOps Engineer to help support, automate, and operate the core platforms that power our data and application ecosystem. This role is a hands-on engineering position working across a diverse set of messaging, database, caching, search, and analytics technologies in on-premises, Kubernetes, and cloud environments.</p> <p>The ideal candidate brings a solid base experience in DevOps practices, automation, and production operations, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement. This role will collaborate closely with teams across Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, Security, and Architecture to help deliver stable, well-managed, and highly available services.</p> <h3>Key Responsibilities</h3> <p>- Support, implement, and help automate enterprise data platforms and messaging infrastructure across hybrid environments.</p> <p>- Assist in maintaining the reliability, scalability, performance, and operational health of platforms such as Kafka/Confluent, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, Snowflake, Redis, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.</p> <p>- Contribute to Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, and deployment automation efforts to improve consistency and efficiency.</p> <p>- Partner with engineering and infrastructure teams to follow best practices for provisioning, deployment, monitoring, patching, and lifecycle management.</p> <p>- Support platform deployments, migrations, upgrades, and maintenance activities.</p> <p>- Help build and maintain observability capabilities including monitoring, alerting, logging, and telemetry.</p> <p>- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes with guidance where needed.</p> <p>- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation practices that improve release quality and operational efficiency.</p> <p>- Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.</p> <p>- Participate in on-call rotation and incident response efforts to support service reliability.</p> <p>- Work with security teams to ensure adherence to standards for access management, encryption, and compliance.</p> <h3>Qualifications</h3> <p>- 2–5 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, or a related technical field.</p> <p>- Experience with Kubernetes is a plus, particularly with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and deploying or supporting containerized workloads.</p> <p>- Experience working with one or more enterprise platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, Snowflake, Redis, or relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).</p> <p>- Familiarity with cloud and infrastructure environments such as AWS, Azure, or VMware.</p> <p>- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar.</p> <p>- Exposure to containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.</p> <p>- Working knowledge of Linux systems administration; Windows Server experience is a plus.</p> <p>- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or similar platforms.</p> <p>- Exposure to CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar.</p> <p>- Basic scripting or programming skills in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages.</p> <p>- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.</p> <p>- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.</p> <p>Please note that sponsorship of new applicants for employment authoriz
