We are seeking a hands-on <span data-olk-copy-source="MessageBody">Senior Device Engineer - Mechanical</span> to join our hardware team in San Diego and help define the future of connected-home devices, including video doorbells, cameras, sensors, and control modules.</p> <p>As the <span data-olk-copy-source="MessageBody">Senior Device Engineer - Mechanical </span>in our San Diego office, you will independently own the mechanical design of new products from concept through manufacturing. You will serve as the on-site mechanical point of contact for our local Technical Program Managers, Electrical Engineers, Firmware Engineers, and Acoustics Engineer, while coordinating closely with our mechanical engineering team across our Taiwan, Washington DC, and Florida offices and our manufacturing partners in Asia. This role operates in the fast-paced, high-cadence development environment that defines consumer electronics.</p> <h3 id="SeniorMechanicalEngineerSanDiego(6/10/2026)-KeyResponsibilities:">Key Responsibilities:</h3> <ul> <li><strong>Own product development end-to-end:</strong> Independently drive mechanical design of consumer electronics products from concept and industrial-design intent through detailed design, prototyping, and mass production.</li> <li><strong>Lead large-assembly design:</strong> Architect and manage complex, multi-part 3D CAD assemblies, maintaining design intent, robust part relationships, and revision discipline across the full product.</li> <li><strong>Build mockups and prototypes:</strong> Create mockups and functional prototypes to evaluate concepts, validate fit and function, and accelerate design iteration.</li> <li><strong>Manage simulation and analysis:</strong> Plan and manage simulations and engineering analysis, assess risks and design options, and justify decisions against product and cross-functional requirements.</li> <li><strong>Drive industrial-design integration:</strong> Manage ID discussions to balance and accommodate optical, acoustic, RF, usability, reliability, and operational-efficiency requirements across the full range of intended environmental conditions.</li> <li><strong>Design for manufacturing across processes:</strong> Design and optimize parts for injection molding, die-cast metal, over-molding, silicone (LSR) injection molding, compression molding, double-shot/two-shot molding, CNC machining, sheet metal, die-cut, and stamped processes.</li> <li><strong>Drive tolerance and DFX resolution:</strong> Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and lead resolution of DFM/DFA/DFX feedback to ensure manufacturable, reliable, cost-effective designs.</li> <li><strong>Prepare manufacturing drawings:</strong> Produce detailed 2D drawings for manufacturing that capture critical dimensions, tolerances (GD&T), manufacturing methods, materials, finishes, colors, and all requirements necessary to produce quality products.</li> <li><strong>Prepare BOMs, RFQs, and documentation:</strong> Prepare preliminary and detailed BOMs and RFQ packages, and document decisions, meeting minutes, research conducted, analyses and simulations performed, engineering assumptions and calculations, and risks with mitigation options.</li> <li><strong>Engage vendors and partners:</strong> Work directly with tooling vendors and ODM/manufacturing partners across Asia to drive part qu
