<p><span data-contrast="auto">The Schwarzman Animal Medical Center (AMC), one of the world's largest nonprofit veterinary specialty hospitals and a leader in advanced companion animal medicine, seeks an exceptional Board-Certified Veterinary Surgeon with expertise and interest in cardiac and cardiothoracic surgery.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></p> <p><span data-contrast="auto">The successful candidate will join AMC's collaborative team of specialists and play a central role in expanding advanced cardiovascular surgical services for companion animals. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to AMC's mission of providing compassionate patient care, advancing veterinary science through research, and educating future veterinary leaders.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></p> <p><span data-contrast="auto">The Cardiac Surgeon will work closely with specialists in Cardiology, Interventional Radiology, Anesthesiology, Emergency and Critical Care, Diagnostic Imaging, Oncology, Internal Medicine, and Rehabilitation to deliver comprehensive, state-of-the-art cardiovascular care.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></p> <h2><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><span data-contrast="auto">Primary Responsibilities</span></strong><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></span></h2> <h3><span data-contrast="auto">Clinical Service</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></h3> <ul> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Provide consultation, diagnosis, and surgical treatment for patients with congenital and acquired cardiovascular diseases.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Perform advanced cardiothoracic and cardiovascular surgical procedures in canine and feline patients.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Collaborate with AMC cardiologists in patient evaluation, treatment planning, and long-term management.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and specialty rounds.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Contribute to the development of innovative treatment protocols and advanced surgical techniques.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Participate with clinical rotation for emergency cases with 8 other surgeons (1:9) rotation</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> </ul> <h3><strong><span data-contrast="auto">Program Development</span></strong><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></h3> <ul> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Help establish and grow a nationally recognized veterinary cardiac surgery program.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Develop clinical pathways, quality metrics, and outcomes assessment programs.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Support expansion of hybrid surgical-interventional cardiovascular procedures.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Promote excellence in patient safety, perioperative care, and clinical outcomes.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> &
