In this role, you will play a part in delivering exceptional specialty eye care, ensuring the highest standard of care for our patients</span></span><span class="EOP Selected SCXW43244807 BCX8" data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></div> <h3>Responsibilities</h3> <ul> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Perform basic and advanced ophthalmic diagnostic tests (tear quantity, glaucoma testing, ulcer testing, retinal electrical function, etc.) and help hold patients for detailed ocular </span><span data-contrast="none">examination, including the ability to properly restrain fractious cats. </span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Be the frontline in educating clients on their pet’s ocular disease and care. </span><span data-contrast="none">This includes client communication through email.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Assist with procedures and surgeries that restore comfort and vision ranging from outpatient procedures to basic and complex surgeries. Surgical procedures including eyelid surgeries, cherry eye surgery, corneal grafts, cataract surgery</span><span data-contrast="none">,</span> <span data-contrast="none">retinal surgery</span><span data-contrast="auto">, glaucoma surgery</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Provide exceptional and compassionate care for patients from admission through discharge</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Provide anesthesia, surgical support, and post-operative recovery for patients of all ASA levels.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Place IV catheters and fluids, administer drugs through various route, perform and monitor sedation/anesthesia (with advances skills including paralytics, ventilation, constant rate infusions, etc.)</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Assist the Ophthalmology department with appointments and facilitate technician appointments. </span><span data-contrast="none">This includes filling prescriptions through various methods.</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot surgical and anesthetic equipment</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Communicate professionally and effectively with colleagues</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> </ul> <h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Must have NYS Veterinary Technician’s license</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">Candidate must be able to work successfully as part of a team and autonomously with the ability to remain composed in stressful and emergency situations</span><span data-ccp-props="{}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="auto">A strong skill set in phlebotomy, catheter placem
