We work hand-in-hand with engineering teams to bring cutting-edge hardware to life—fast. Our state-of-the-art shop is equipped with advanced 5-axis CNC machines and staffed by highly skilled machinists who thrive in a fast-paced, R&D-driven environment. If you're passionate about precision manufacturing and want your work to directly impact national security, this is the team for you.</p> <h2>ABOUT THE JOB</h2> <p>We're seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our Costa Mesa, CA prototype shop. In this role, you'll take full ownership of complex machining projects—from programming and setup to operation and quality assurance. You'll work on low-volume, high-stakes prototype parts that push the boundaries of what's possible in defense technology. This is a hands-on role where your technical expertise and problem-solving skills will directly contribute to Anduril's mission of building next-generation defense systems.</p> <h2>WHAT YOU'LL DO</h2> <ul> <li class="text-start ">Interpret technical blueprints, CAD models, and engineering drawings to plan machining processes</li> <li class="text-start ">Program, set up, and operate multi-axis CNC milling and turning machines (including 5-axis equipment)</li> <li class="text-start ">Design and implement custom work-holding solutions and fixtures to meet unique project requirements</li> <li class="text-start ">Troubleshoot machining issues in real time and make process adjustments to ensure part quality</li> <li class="text-start ">Conduct in-process and final quality inspections to verify parts meet stringent specifications</li> </ul> <p> </p> <h2>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</h2> <p> </p> <ul> <li class="text-start ">5+ years of hands-on experience programming CNC machines using CAM software (e.g., Esprit, hyperMill—training available for the right candidate)</li> <li class="text-start ">5+ years of experience in CNC machine setup and operation</li> <li class="text-start ">Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming</li> <li class="text-start ">Expertise in multi-axis and 3D machining techniques</li> <li class="text-start ">Experience operating 5-axis mills, live tooling lathes, mill-turns, or multi-task machines</li> <li class="text-start ">Proficiency with Fanuc, Siemens, or Brother CNC controls</li> <li class="text-start ">Deep knowledge of machining various materials including alloys, metals, and plastics</li> <li class="text-start ">Proven experience designing and implementing tooling and fixturing solutions</li> <li class="text-start ">Strong working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)</li> <li class="text-start ">Ability to own the full manufacturing process from blueprin
