We welcome candidates from the Wausau, WI area and beyond to apply. </p> <p>Employees working in Antigo, WI have a short commute from Wausau, Merrill, Rhinelander, Shawano, Weston, Schofield, Mosinee, Tomahawk, Crandon, Birnamwood, Mattoon, Elcho, White Lake, and Neopit and will enjoy professional growth and community engagement through our regional presence in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota and South Dakota.</p> <p>As an <strong>Electrical Controls Engineer</strong>, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Specify, design, program, test, and implement electrical components, equipment, and control systems for industrial and technical applications</li> <li>Develop and modify electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts</li> <li>Design and support power distribution systems, including switchgear, protection systems, and facility electrical upgrades</li> <li>Program and integrate PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, robots, servos, and related automation hardware</li> <li>Lead electrical integration for new equipment, processes, and system upgrades</li> <li>Evaluate existing equipment and recommend improvements for performance, reliability, safety, and diagnostics</li> <li>Troubleshoot electrical and control issues using software tools, instrumentation, and diagnostic procedures</li> <li>Collaborate with electricians, maintenance, production, engineering, and contractors to support equipment installation, repair, and continuous improvement</li> <li>Manage project tasks including quotes, budgets, timelines, and purchase requisitions</li> <li>Promote safety, proper documentation, and a positive working environment</li> <li>Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners</li> <li>Contribute to projects that impact communities in Wausau, Merrill, Rhinelander, Shawano, Weston, Schofield, Mosinee, Tomahawk, Crandon, Birnamwood, Mattoon, Elcho, White Lake, and Neopit, and the greater Wausau, WI area</li> <li>Apply your skills in a dynamic environment that values ownership and innovation</li> </ul> <p><strong style="font-size: 12pt;">QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p> <ul> <li>Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology (or similar) with relevant controls experience preferred; a Bachelor of Science degree (BSEE) in Electrical Engineering will be considered</li> <li>3+ years of Controls Engineering experience in industrial or manufacturing environments</li> <li>Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, code manuals, and technical documentation</li> <li>Strong problem‑solving skills and troubleshooting capability</li> <li>Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, robotics, servos, and industrial control systems</li> <li>Proficiency with electrical diagnostic tools such as multimeters and related equipment</li> <li>Effective verbal and written communication skills</li> <li>Ability to perform metric conversions and basic mathematical calculations</li> <li>Capable of lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs regularly; able to meet physical demands of industrial environments</li> <li>Comfortable working near moving mechanical equipment, loud environments, and occasional outdoor conditions</
