We welcome candidates from the southern Twin Cities metro and beyond to apply. </p> <p>Employees working in Faribault, MN have a short commute from Northfield, Owatonna, Dundas, Medford, Lakeville, Farmington, Waseca, and Lonsdale and will enjoy professional growth and community engagement through our regional presence in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota and South Dakota.</p> <p>As an <strong>Electrical Design & Product Engineer</strong>, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Support manufacturing‑focused electrical product engineering with emphasis on product transfers, new product introduction (NPI), and production readiness</li> <li>Create and update electrical schematics, wiring and harness designs, wire‑kit documentation, and manufacturing‑ready BOMs</li> <li>Drive electrical DfMA improvements, BOM commonization, and design simplification across product lines</li> <li>Partner with manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to resolve production issues and ensure smooth factory launches</li> <li>Maintain accurate engineering documentation, drawings, and change records using electrical CAD and document‑control systems</li> <li>Improve reliability, consistency, and manufacturability of industrial electrical products and electromechanical assemblies</li> <li>Troubleshoot electrical build issues and support root‑cause analysis for wiring, harness, and component defects</li> <li>Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, reduce variation, and streamline assembly</li> <li>Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners</li> <li>Contribute to projects that impact communities in Northfield, Owatonna, Dundas, Medford, Lakeville, Farmington, Waseca, and Lonsdale and the greater southern Twin Cities metro</li> <li>Apply your skills in a dynamic environment that values ownership and innovation</li> </ul> <h3><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></span></h3> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required</li> <li>5+ years of experience supporting manufacturing‑focused electrical engineering, product transfers, and new product introduction</li> <li>Electrical design experience using SolidWorks Electrical, E‑Plan, or similar </li> <li>Manufacturing exposure with understanding of production processes, build sequencing, and assembly requirements</li> <li>Controls exposure including component selection, troubleshooting, and system integration</li> <li>Proficiency with electrical schematics, wiring and harness design, wire‑kit documentation, and BOM creation</li> <li>Knowledge of DfMA principles, BOM commonization strategies, and design simplification for manufacturability</li> <li>Ability to troubleshoot electrical build issues and support root‑cause analysis for wiring, harness, and component defects</li> <li>Strong collaboration skills with manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and cross‑functional engineering teams</li> <li>Experience maintaining accurate engineering documentation, drawings, and change records in CAD and document‑control systems</li> <li>Understanding of industrial electrical products, elec
