We welcome candidates from the Fargo-Moorhead metro and beyond to apply. </p> <p>Employees working in Fargo, ND will enjoy professional growth and community engagement through our regional presence in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota and South Dakota.</p> <p>As a <strong>Mechanical Test Engineer</strong>, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Perform hands‑on lab work including test setup, execution, data acquisition, and teardown</li> <li>Design and develops mechanical tests based on engineering test request requirements</li> <li>Set up and remove test fixtures using cranes, forklifts, and other shop equipment</li> <li>Configure and operate data acquisition systems for component and system‑level testing</li> <li>Build, install, and verify mechanical assemblies to ensure accurate and repeatable test conditions</li> <li>Work closely with other engineers to translate test objectives into actionable procedures</li> <li>Collect, analyze, and report test data to support engineering decisions and product improvements</li> <li>Supports continuous improvement of test methods, instrumentation, and lab processes</li> <li>Thrives in a hands‑on shop environment with daily mechanical work and equipment interaction</li> <li>Role is well‑suited for someone eager to learn; on-the-job training can be provided</li> <li>Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners</li> <li>Contribute to projects that impact communities in the greater Fargo-Moorhead metro</li> <li>Apply your skills in a dynamic environment that values ownership and innovation</li> </ul> <h4><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering required; a Bachelor of Science degree in Ag/Biosystems will also be considered</li> <li>Strong mechanical aptitude with comfort working in a shop or lab environment</li> <li>Experience with mechanical assembly, heavy equipment, ag machinery, or automotive systems helpful</li> <li>Familiarity with engines, drivetrains, hydraulic systems, or component‑level testing beneficial</li> <li>Ability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot data acquisition systems</li> <li>Comfortable using cranes, forklifts, and other material‑handling equipment for test setup</li> <li>Ability to follow engineering specifications and ensure precise, repeatable test conditions</li> <li>Strong interest in learning new test methods, instrumentation, and engineering practices</li> <li>Effective communication skills for documenting results and collaborating with engineers</li> <li>Hands‑on technician or lab experience preferred, but motivated early‑career engineers encouraged to apply</li> <li>Capable of working independently and as a team member</li> <li>Strong work ethic and unwavering integrity</li> <li>Excellent interpersonal skills and a learning mindset</li> <li>Curiosity, problem solving, and analytical thinking</li> <li>Effective verbal and written communication</li> <li>Desire to work on a variety of projects</li> </ul> <h4><strong>ESTIMATED PAY RANGE</strong></h4> <p>Engineer I: $34.62–$40.38
