<p>We are seeking a highly driven In Vivo Technician to join our In Vivo team in beautiful Vancouver, Canada. Reporting to the Scientist, In Vivo, you will support the execution of preclinical <em>in vivo</em> studies. You’ll be joining a company committed to developing regenerative medicines that deliver life-changing, functional cures for patients living with serious diseases. </p> <p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Participating in experimental preparation, set up, and take down. </li> <li>Assisting in executing <em>in vivo</em> study procedures, ensuring adherence to proper animal care practices.</li> <li>Performing standard animal handling tasks, including restraint, dosing (IP, SQ, IV, PO), and blood sampling.</li> <li>Conducting scheduled health observations, assessments, supportive care, promptly report any observed animal anomalies and update online data spreadsheets. </li> <li>Performing post-operative care and monitoring.</li> <li>Carrying out necropsies and tissue collection, ensuring timely delivery of samples.</li> <li>Maintaining accurate records, including animal monitoring sheets, room logs, health reports, cage cards, autoclave logs, and other required documents </li> <li>Contributing to maintaining and improving standard operating procedures related to <em>in vivo</em> studies.</li> <li>Communicating findings and updates to internal teams through regular experimental summaries and presentations.</li> <li>Managing inventories and facility consumables to support day-to-day operations.</li> <li>Ensuring biosecurity controls, including cleaning and sanitizing the animal facility and equipment, as well as environmental monitoring.</li> <li>Following standard operating procedures, safety measures, and quality assurance standards for the animal facility.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications & Experience </strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Education:</strong> Diploma or BSc in a relevant discipline.</li> <li><strong>Required Experience:</strong> At least 1 year of experience in an <em>in vivo</em> research or exposure to rodent handling. </li> <li><strong>Ideal Certification:</strong> Completion of UBC animal care training and lab rodent courses (or willingness to complete training).</li> <li><strong>Comfort with Rodents: </strong>Ability to work comfortably with rodents in a research setting (training and support will be provided).</li> <li><strong>Thrive in Ambiguity:</strong> You are highly adaptable, agile, and poised when faced with change, ambiguity, and competing priorities.</li> <li><strong>Collaborative:</strong> You thrive in a multi-disciplinary team environment and believe that we can get further, faster by working together.</li> </ul> <p>The hiring range for this role is $50,000 - $60,000, annually. Our pay scales are based on market data to ensure that compensation is competitive and fair. Offered salaries will be based on a combination of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience. For candidates who exceed role requirements, we are open to exploring above-range offers.
