<p>We are seeking an experienced Lead/Senior UX Designer to guide UX design practices across the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) cluster. This is a strategic role that requires both hands-on design expertise and the ability to lead cross-ministry initiatives, working with senior stakeholders across multiple projects and teams.</p> <h2>Key Requirements</h2> <h3>Experience & Expertise</h3> <ul> <li>8+ years of progressive UX/UI design experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead capacity</li> <li>Proven track record of leading design initiatives across multiple projects simultaneously</li> <li>Demonstrated experience working with senior stakeholders and C-level executives</li> <li>Experience in government, enterprise, or large-scale organizational settings is highly preferred</li> <li>Portfolio demonstrating product thinking, strategic leadership, design process, and measurable impact</li> </ul> <h3>Technical Skills</h3> <ul> <li>Experience with design research methodologies and usability testing tools</li> <li>Expert proficiency in design tools</li> <li>Strong understanding of responsive design, design systems, and component libraries</li> <li>Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS) and ability to collaborate effectively with developers</li> </ul> <h3>Leadership & Communication</h3> <ul> <li>Exceptional presentation and communication skills with ability to influence at all organizational levels</li> <li>Experience facilitating design workshops, critique sessions, and collaborative design activities</li> <li>Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build consensus and drive alignment</li> <li>Ability to mentor and develop design talent while establishing a culture of design excellence</li> <li>Strategic thinking with ability to translate business objectives into user-centered design solutions</li> </ul> <h2>Work Environment</h2> <ul> <li>Work across multiple concurrent projects with ITG teams</li> <li>Collaborate with vendors and external partners on various ministry systems</li> <li>Interface regularly with stakeholders from different ministry divisions including policy, operations, and technology teams</li> <li>Projects span citizen-facing applications, case management systems, content management platforms, and data analytics tools</li> </ul> <h2>The Ideal Candidate</h2> <p>Beyond the listed qualifications, we are looking for someone who:</p> <ul> <li>Balances strategic vision with hands-on execution and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves</li> <li>Ability to harmonise between product thinking and design</li> <li>Is comfortable operating with ambiguity and establishing practices in a maturing design function</li> <li>Brings curiosity about social services, policy, and public sector challenges</li> <li>Demonstrates empathy for both end users (citizens, social workers) and internal stakeholders</li> <li>Has a collaborative mindset and thrives in cross-functional team environments</li> <li>Values impact over perfection and can navigate the pragmatic realities of government technology</li> </ul> <h2>Application Process</h2> <p>Interested candidates should submit:</p> <ul> <li>Resume/CV highlighting relevant experience</li> <li>Portfolio demonstrating UX process, stakeholder engagement, and design outcomes</li> <li>Brief statement (300-500 words) describing your approach to establishing UX practices in a complex organizational environment</li> </ul><
