Legal Consultant, Payments

<p> </p> <h2><strong>About the job</strong></h2> <p> </p> <p>Axiom is looking for a Payments & Regulatory Legal Consultant to advise the business on payments, financial services regulation, and regulatory risk. </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Provide legal and regulatory advice on payment services, payment products, e-money, digital wallets, card schemes, merchant acquiring, money movement, and related financial services.</li> <li>Advise on applicable licensing and regulatory requirements across relevant jurisdictions.</li> <li>Support new product launches, market expansion, partnerships, and changes to payment flows from a legal and regulatory perspective.</li> <li>Interpret and monitor developments in payments and financial services legislation, regulations, regulatory guidance, and enforcement trends.</li> <li>work with regulators and MAS, ensure that they are compliant to all regulations</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>5+ years of experience in a payments focused role, with traditional MAS-regulated banking experience</p> </li> <li>Experience in financial services, payments, fintech, banking, or a related regulatory practice.</li> <li>Strong understanding of payment services regulation and financial services regulatory frameworks.</li> <li>Experience advising on payment products, fintech business models, financial institutions, or regulated technology businesses.</li> <li>Strong commercial drafting and contract negotiation skills.</li> <li>Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business advice.</li> <li>Experience working across multiple jurisdictions is highly desirable.</li> <li>Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder-management, and project-management skills.</li> <li>Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <div class="x_elementToProof"><strong data-olk-copy-source="MessageBody">Compensation, Benefits & Location:</strong></div> <div class="x_elementToProof"> </div> <div class="x_elementToProof">This role offers a range of competitive compensation and a highly competitive benefits package in the alternative legal services marketplace that includes health benefits and paid time off.
