<h2><strong>The Role</strong></h2> <p>Our Wallet Development team in Malaga is growing and we are now looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join! Engagement at Betsson Group ensures our customers come back for more. It’s all about loyalty. We provide a world class customer experience beyond the game play featuring Tournaments, Dynamic personalized campaigns and much more! </p> <p>You will be part of preparing our journey to containerization, increasing the scalability of our systems while also maintaining their high quality. To accommodate new requirements, we are constantly re-evaluating our systems design and working on exciting new features.</p> <h2><strong>What you'll do: </strong></h2> <ul> <li>Design and develop distributed backend services using .NET and event-driven architecture.</li> <li>Collaborate with product and commercial teams to turn engagement ideas into scalable, maintainable, and user-friendly solutions.</li> <li>Optimize our microservice ecosystem for performance, reliability, and observability.</li> <li>Drive our containerization and cloud migration strategy forward.</li> <li>Participate in architecture discussions and help shape technical decisions. <ul> <li><em>For senior engineers</em>: Lead architectural decisions and proactively identify areas for improvement.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Write maintainable, well-tested code and conduct code reviews.</li> <li>Participate in incident resolution and the team’s on-call rotation.</li> <li>Maintain clear technical documentation such as ADRs, runbooks, and guidelines.</li> <li>Build and share your domain expertise within the team.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>What Tech Stack you'll be working with:</strong></h2> <p>We don’t expect you to know everything listed below – but the more you’re familiar with, the better. What matters most is your ability to learn, collaborate, and write high-quality, maintainable code. </p> <h3>Core Technologies</h3> <p>These are essential to the role, and we’re looking for solid experience here – especially for senior candidates.</p> <ul> <li><strong>Languages & Frameworks</strong>: C#, .NET (modern versions after .NET Core)</li> <li><strong>Databases</strong>: SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Redis, Couchbase <em>(experience with relational or document databases, including indexing and query optimization, is a strong plus)</em></li> <li><strong>Cloud & Containers</strong>: AWS, Kubernetes, Docker <em>(experience with any major cloud provider or containerization platform is valuable)</em></li> <li><strong>Testing & Quality</strong>: xUnit/NUnit, mocking frameworks, k6 for load testing <em>(understanding of unit, integration, and performance testing is more important than specific tools)</em></li> </ul> <h3>Additional Tools & Practices</h3> <p>Familiarity with these of similar tools and concepts is a plus.</p> <ul> <li><strong>Messaging & Microservices</strong>: Web APIs, Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, Orleans <em>(experience with any messaging or actor-based system is valuable)</em></li> <li><strong>Observability</strong>: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Splunk <em>(or experience with other observability stacks)</em></li> <li><strong>CI/CD</strong>: GitHub Actions, trunk-based development, progressive delivery <em>(familiarity with continuous delivery pipelines and deployment strategies is more important than spec
