Keep reading.</p> <h2>Add a Spark to the Ordinary…</h2> <p>We’re looking for a Senior Accountant who is excited to help scale Blank Street’s US accounting function with rigor, structure, and strong ownership. If you thrive in detail-heavy, execution-focused environments and take pride in keeping financial records accurate, timely, and compliant, this role is for you. You’ll own core accounting workflows including month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and statutory reporting, while strengthening processes that support a fast-moving, growing business. You’ll also partner closely with Finance, Operations, People, and external parties as a go-to resource for accounting execution, audit support, supplier queries, and process improvement. This in-person role is based in our Brooklyn, NY office and reports to the Director of Finance. </p> <h2>Who We’re Looking For</h2> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field</li> <li>3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a mix of public accounting and retail or hospitality environment in the US</li> <li>Qualification (CPA) preferred</li> <li>Strong understanding of both US GAAP & IFRS accounting principles and financial reporting</li> <li>Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP system</li> <li>Experience with Coupa or similar billing and invoicing accounting software</li> <li>Proficiency in Microsoft suite of products, particularly Excel (VLOOKUPS and Pivot Tables at a minimum)</li> <li>Ability to identify and solve problems and clearly communicate solutions</li> <li>Ability to work independently own deliverable timelines and communicate workstream issues</li> <li>Approaches work with a team mindset and understands the importance of cross-functional communication</li> </ul> <h2>What You’ll Own</h2> <ul> <li><strong>Manage US accounts reporting and intercompany accounting across international entities</strong> <ul> <li>Prepare timely, accurate and complete monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements</li> <li>Research, calculate, and document areas of significant judgement and estimates, including emerging or complex accounting treatments</li> <li>Own intercompany journals and reconciliations between entities</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Collaborate on period-end close and balance sheet integrity</strong> <ul> <li>Perform period-end close of the general ledger, including preparation and posting of journal entries and accruals</li> <li>Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain supporting schedules</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Support day-to-day accounting operations and vendor payments</strong> <ul> <li>Provide operational support, including reviewing invoices and resolving vendor issues</li> <li>Oversee timely and accurate vendor and expense payment processing in line with contractual terms and internal policies and procedures</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Build and improve accounting policies, controls, and processes</strong> <ul> <li>Develop an
