As a senior leader within the Controllership organization, you will manage a team of tax professionals and act as a trusted advisor to Finance leadership on all domestic and international tax matters — ensuring Box meets its obligations accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with our long-term business strategy.</p> <p>This is a high-impact role for a tax leader who brings both deep technical expertise and strong people management skills. You will set the direction for the tax function, drive process modernization through AI-enabled workflows, and build a team culture grounded in precision, accountability, and continuous improvement — all while partnering closely with cross-functional stakeholders to support Box's growth.</p> <p><strong>WHAT YOU'LL DO</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>Lead, develop, and retain a team of tax professionals, establishing clear goals, providing ongoing coaching and performance feedback, and building a high-performing team culture aligned to Box's values.</p> </li> <li> <p>Own all aspects of federal, state, and international tax compliance, including oversight of corporate income tax returns, estimated tax payments, and related filings to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery.</p> </li> <li> <p>Direct the quarterly and annual income tax provision process (ASC 740), including review of tax accruals, deferred tax analysis, uncertain tax positions, and coordination with external auditors.</p> </li> <li> <p>Serve as a strategic tax advisor to Finance, Legal, and Business Operations, providing proactive guidance on transactions, new business initiatives, restructurings, and other matters with tax implications.</p> </li> <li> <p>Monitor evolving federal, state, and international tax legislation and regulatory developments, assessing their impact on Box and communicating recommended actions to senior Finance leadership.</p> </li> <li> <p>Oversee transfer pricing strategy and documentation, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations across Box's global footprint and alignment with the company's intercompany policies.</p> </li> <li> <p>Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and tax authorities, including leadership of tax audits, controversy matters, and responses to government inqui
