<p><strong>JOB FUNCTION:</strong> The Senior Accountant is responsible for accurate financial reporting, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and analysis of financial information. This role supports month-end and year-end close activities, strengthens accounting controls and processes, resolves accounting irregularities, and provides timely financial information to management while serving as a key resource to the accounting team.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>JOB DUTIES</strong></p> <ul> <li>Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure the proper recording and classification of financial transactions.</li> <li>Lead and perform month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.</li> <li>Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and account activity; investigate and explain significant variances.</li> <li>Review financial information and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.</li> <li>Identify accounting irregularities, research root causes, and recommend and implement appropriate corrective actions.</li> <li>Collaborate with team members and business partners to provide timely financial information and reporting to senior-level management.</li> <li>Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and other required documentation.</li> <li>Serve as a knowledgeable back-up for accounts payable and other accounting functions as needed.</li> <li>Assist with the development, documentation, and continuous improvement of accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.</li> <li>Provide guidance and support to accounting team members and contribute to special projects and other accounting activities as assigned.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.</li> <li>Proven analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.</li> <li>Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Office, including advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.</li> <li>Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines and work independently with limited supervision.</li> <li>Ability to communicate financial information clearly and work collaboratively across departments and organizational levels.</li> <li>Demonstrated judgment, discretion, and commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of financial information.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.</li> <li>Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.</li> </ul>
