<p><strong>Who are We?</strong></p> <p>Brooke Charter Schools is a network of four public charter schools serving grades K-12 in Mattapan, Roslindale, and East Boston. Brooke Charter School is committed to high academic achievement and supporting our students to and through college. </p> <p><strong>What is the Associate Teacher Role? </strong></p> <p>The Associate Teacher Program is a nontraditional pathway that prepares aspiring educators to become lead teachers within one year. Designed to support early-career educators, the program combines intensive coaching, professional development, and hands-on classroom experience to help participants build the skills and confidence needed to become effective teachers. Brooke Charter Schools is committed to being an anti-racist organization. In support of this commitment, the Associate Teacher Program advances the school's anti-racist and anti-bias mission by recruiting and developing Associates from diverse cultural, ethnic, and racial backgrounds.</p> <p> The Associate Teacher program has <strong>three core components: </strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>One-to-one Mentoring</strong> <ul> <li>Every Associate Teacher is paired with a mentor. Mentors are experienced lead teachers in their school community. </li> <li>Mentor Teachers provide Associate Teachers with targeted feedback to support growth in teaching practices through regular observations, coaching conversations, and formal monthly evaluations.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Professional Development</strong> <ul> <li>Associates participate in over 300 hours of weekly intensive professional development (PD).</li> <li>PD topics include developing culturally sustaining pedagogical practices, how to increase student talk time, and strategies to develop authentic teacher presence, etc.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Gradual Release Teaching Model</strong><br> <ul> <li>Associates practice skills from targeted professional development and take on more teaching components.</li> <li>Associates teach full days in their mentor's classroom and are granted opportunities to teach across their K-8th or 9th-12th-grade campus.</li> <li>Associate teachers will assume the duties of absent classroom teachers and teach across different grade levels and classrooms. </li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p><strong><em>Benefits of being a Brooke Associate Teacher:</em></strong></p> <ul> <li>Earn a competitive starting salary of $60,000.
