<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>As a <strong>Specialist in Communications</strong> at Carvana, you will help uncover, shape, and share stories that demonstrate who we are and where we’re going. You’ll pitch compelling stories, build trusted relationships with journalists, and create content for a growing range of earned and owned media channels.</p> <p>The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic storyteller with strong news judgment, excellent writing skills, and a talent for making complex information clear and engaging. Our culture is special, camaraderie is strong, and every day, we let our passion and creativity foster innovation.</p> <p><strong>What you’ll be doing</strong></p> <ul> <li>Identify and develop stories from across the business, working with employees, customers, and cross-functional partners to bring them to life through written, visual, and multimedia content.</li> <li>Pitch timely, compelling stories to media outlets and build trusted relationships with journalists.</li> <li>Become a subject matter expert on Carvana, the automotive industry, our markets, and the technology shaping the customer experience.</li> <li>Respond to media inquiries and support communications during high-profile or sensitive situations with sound judgment and composure.</li> <li>Develop compelling communications materials, including press releases, media alerts, proactive pitches, talking points, media briefings, and owned-media content.</li> <li>Monitor news, industry developments, and emerging trends to identify opportunities for Carvana to contribute to relevant conversations.</li> <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business results, data, and complex topics into clear, engaging stories.</li> <li>Help maintain consistent, accurate, and on-brand messaging across communications channels.</li> <li>Explore new formats and creative approaches for reaching audiences directly.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What you should know/have</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, communications, or a related field required.</li> <li>3+ years of experience in public relations, communications, journalism, multimedia production, or another related storytelling role.</li> <li>Strong news judgment and the ability to recognize and develop compelling stories.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience pitching stories, working with journalists, or producing content for media audiences.</li> <li>The judgment and composure to manage sensitive situations and perform well under pressure.</li> <li>Comfort working in a high-visibility role and collaborating with senior leaders and partners across the business.</li> <li>A proactive, curious mindset and a willingness to explore unconventional angles and new ways of telling Carvana’s story.</li> <li>Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.</li> <li>Experience using AI tools to support research, media monitoring, content development, and communications workflows, with strong editorial judgment and attention to accuracy.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Bonus points if you have</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience working in journa
