Consumer Compliance Manager, Card Products
Job Description
About Cardless Cardless is building the infrastructure for the world's best companies to design, build, and launch financial products of their own. Companies like Coinbase and Bilt use Cardless to create credit cards that feel entirely their own. In an industry where branded financial products usually mean shared logos and shared control, Cardless is built to disappear. Our APIs and components shape the journey from the first application to every purchase, reward, and moment of support that follows, while we handle lending, compliance, and operations behind the scenes. In September 2025, we raised a $60 million Series C led by Spark Capital, bringing our total funding to $170 million. The team is over 70 people and scaling toward profitability by year-end 2026. We're looking for kind, humble people with high standards and low egos. We take the work seriously without taking ourselves too seriously. We see what could be improved, make it so, and leave every product, system, and team better than we found it. About the role We're looking for a detail-oriented, business-minded compliance professional to own product compliance across Cardless's card programs, credit and debit. This role sits at the intersection of compliance, product, and the business: you'll advise on new card programs and features, product terms, pricing and fee disclosures, and application and servicing flows across the product lifecycle, review them for regulatory issues, and give product and business teams practical, customer-friendly ways to get to a compliant answer. This is the product compliance and advisory work our compliance leadership does today, and you'll take it over and build it out. Cardless is a program manager that partners with FDIC- and OCC-regulated issuing banks, so your advice and reviews account for obligations across multiple bank partners, each with its own expectations and approval process. This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role with no direct reports. You'll personally run the product-compliance reviews and advisory and build the function itself: product-review checklists, advisory intake, sign-off workflows, and audit-ready records. It is a strong opportunity for a compliance professional with real product and regulatory depth who wants hands-on ownership of card product compliance and is eager to grow with a strong compliance team. What you'll do Advise product, business, and operations teams on the compliance of new card programs, features, terms, pricing, and fees across credit and debit, from concept through launch and into servicing. Review product terms, pricing and fee structures, disclosure packages, and application and servicing flows against applicable regulations and partner bank requirements. Interpret and apply Regulation Z, Regulation E, Regulation DD, Regulation B, UDAAP, FCRA, and related consumer protection laws to product decisions, including novel features where the rule is not directly on point. Identify regulatory issues early in the product lifecycle and recommend defensible, workable solutions rather than simply blocking, and make sure required disclosures and terms are built into each launch. Build and maintain product-compliance review checklists, advisory intake, sign-off workflows, and audit-ready records. Partner with issuing bank partners on product and disclosure review and sign-off, and escalate higher-risk or novel issues to senior compliance leadership with a recommendation. Contribute to regulatory change management for the product portfolio and to training across the organization. What we're looking for Typically 3 to 6 years in compliance, legal, or regulatory advisory within banking, fintech, or consumer financial services, with hands-on experience reviewing and advising on consumer product features, terms, pricing and fee disclosures, or application and servicing flows. Working knowledge of consumer protection regulations across credit and debit card products (Regulation Z, Regulation E, R
