Compliance Analyst/Manager, Issue Management
Job Description
About Cardless Cardless is building the infrastructure for the world's best companies to design, build, and launch financial products of their own. Companies like Coinbase and Bilt use Cardless to create credit cards that feel entirely their own. In an industry where branded financial products usually mean shared logos and shared control, Cardless is built to disappear. Our APIs and components shape the journey from the first application to every purchase, reward, and moment of support that follows, while we handle lending, compliance, and operations behind the scenes. In September 2025, we raised a $60 million Series C led by Spark Capital, bringing our total funding to $170 million. The team is over 70 people and scaling toward profitability by year-end 2026. We're looking for kind, humble people with high standards and low egos. We take the work seriously without taking ourselves too seriously. We see what could be improved, make it so, and leave every product, system, and team better than we found it. About the role We're hiring someone to run compliance issue management at Cardless. That covers the issue log for all of our card programs, corrective action plans, consumer remediation, and monthly reporting to our bank partners. You'll take issues all the way to closed. That means the fix is actually in the product and you've checked it worked. The file should still make sense to an examiner a year later. Cardless is a program manager. We partner with FDIC- and OCC-regulated issuing banks, each with its own regulator and reporting schedule, so most issues you work involve us, the brand partner and the bank. This is a hands-on individual contributor role with no direct reports, and we're open on level. Depending on your experience it could be an analyst or a manager title, and the offer will reflect that. What you'll do Own the compliance issue log across every card program and bank partner (intake, classification, root cause, target dates, status, closure) and keep it reconciled to each bank's register. Document each issue: what happened, which requirement it touches, when it started, when customer impact ended, and how many customers were affected. Write corrective action plans with an owner, a target date, and the evidence that will show the fix worked. If the permanent fix will take a while, put an interim control in place. Work with Engineering, Product, and Operations on the underlying fix. An issue isn't closed until you've confirmed the fix held. Scope affected populations, design the remediation, work with Finance and Operations to carry it out, then check afterward that each affected customer was made whole. Send monthly issue reporting to each bank partner, answer partner and exam requests on open items, and prepare updates for the Compliance Committee and the Board. Improve the tools and workflow behind all of this. Automate where it makes sense, and when the same kind of issue keeps coming up, add a control or monitoring to catch it earlier. Help out in other compliance areas when needed. What we're looking for You think critically. With incomplete information you can work out what happened, be upfront about what you're sure of and what you aren't, and explain why you scoped something the way you did. This matters more to us than anything else here. You've personally taken a problem from "something looks off" to fixed and verified. It doesn't have to have been in compliance. If you're coming in as a manager, you have working knowledge of Regulation Z, Regulation E, Regulation B, UDAAP, and FCRA from applying them. Analysts can learn them here, as long as the judgment is there. You're comfortable with data and can tell whether a number is plausible. You use AI tools in your work now, and you check what they give you. You don't need to be an engineer. Your writing is clear enough that a bank partner or regulator can follow it without a meeting. You're organized. You can keep a lot of open items and deadlines movin
